Swimming Lessons;

Swimming Lessons for 3rd and 4th classes will commence on Monday 19th November for 8 weeks. The final date for swimming for 5th and 6th classes is Monday 12th November. There are still a number of pupils who need to pay for them and we would be grateful to receive payment now please.

Red Kettle Theatre Company;

The above company will visit the school on Wednesday 28th November. They will have 2 performances; Junior Infants,

1st, 3rd and 5th classes will view the 10am performance and Senior Infants, 2nd, 4th and 6th will view the second performance. This year the play is called “Backwards, Forwards and Upside down” and is written and directed by Liam Meagher. It is a highly interactive piece of theatre that incorporates audience participation and will be very entertaining, educational and fun. The cost is €4 per pupil. Please place €4 in an envelope marked with your child’s name.

Parent Teacher Meetings;

Parent Teacher Meetings have been arranged for Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th November. Details of appointments will be issued as soon as possible.

Visit to Waterford Crystal;

Friday 7th December: 6th class will visit Waterford Crystal. The cost is €3 for the bus.

Bring and Buy Sale;

Our annual Bring and Buy Sale, organised by 6th Class, will take place on Friday 14th December in the school, during the school day. Children throughout the school can help by donating unwanted books, toys, games, etc, which are in good condition. Please do not send in broken or damaged items. There will also be a small shop and many novelty games. All classes will be given a chance to attend this fundraising event. Please remember to give your child (especially junior classes) a small amount of money on the day. This is a very enjoyable event, as children love to spend their own money on items of their choice. 6th Class also have the opportunity to put their organisational and mathematical skills to work, and aim to make as much money as possible.

Christmas Concert;

On Thursday 20th December, we will hold a Christmas Concert, at 7.30pm in the New Parish Hall. The children of 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes will participate. More details will follow closer to the time.

Christmas Holidays;

School will close for Christmas holidays on Friday 21st December at 12pm. School reopens on Monday 7th January at 9am.

Home Internet/Device Usage for pupils;

As a matter of concern around the time our pupils spend on internet/devices and content safety, we have arranged an Internet Safety Talk for parents on Wednesday 23rd January at 7.30pm, here in the school. We strongly encourage all parents to attend this seminar. This will be followed by a talk for 3rd and 4th, and a separate talk for 5th and 6th on the morning of Thursday 24th January.

In addition to the above dates, please also observe the following:

Road Safety - Parking - Well Done!

Sincere thanks to our caretaker, Matt, and our volunteer parents who are currently putting out traffic cones each morning and afternoon in order to prevent drivers parking unsafely at the school entrance. Crossing is now much safer for all children. Thanks to all parents who have adhered to the parking arrangements outside the school. Please keep up the good habit and remember never to park on the zig-zag lines. A small number are still attempting to park in the pedestrian zone so please tell grandparents, neighbours or anyone collecting children about the parking arrangements.
